An English 18th Century bronze and carved bone candlestick.
The bronze stem features a textured, bark-like finish, supporting a highly decorative, deeply cast foliate bobeche (or cup) designed to hold the candle.
The centrepiece is a delicately carved bone bird resting on a bronze branch. This bird features a lifelike texture and a shimmering mother-of-pearl eye. The tip of the beak is missing.
Subtle bands of gilt ormolu detailing enhance the bronze base, adding a touch of golden warmth and refinement.
